Sweet grass, tree bark, and roots are incorporated into one of a kind creations. The store also showcases a variety of works by over 100 local accomplished artisans. Come and experience traditional Island craftsmanship-a true delight for the senses. Come for the museum & interpretive centre, Stay for a demonstration or workshop. Groups are welcome!

The Christmas Tea for the Island Traditions Store: Home of the Basket Weavers, is November.12, 2016. The location: 17 Sunnyside Road Richmond. Time: 10:00am-3:00pm. Come and visit our gift shop and enjoy a hot apple cider or coffee and a snack, while viewing the work of our local accomplished artisans. Enjoy a chat with professional basket weavers, learn about the history of the old traditional ash splint basketry, watch basket weaving demonstrations and wood preperations.
